Gabe's location in Butler will be largest store
Gabe’s management has confirmed that the Butler location planned for the former Kmart site in Pullman Square will be the largest of the company’s 108 stores in 13 states.
A news release from Gabe’s on Tuesday said the 105,000-square-foot department store will open at the end of April, and will host an official grand opening at 9 a.m. May 2.
“Shoppers can expect this vast store to offer expanded, robust departments, including clothing for men, women and children, workwear, footwear, toys and games, technology, home and garden, kitchen and so much more,” the release said.
The first 200 shoppers in line at the grand opening will receive Gabe’s gift cards.
Games, prizes and special promotions will be ongoing throughout the day of the grand opening.
Gabe’s offers discounts of up to 70 percent off department store prices, receives multiple shipments of stock each week, and offers fresh deals every day, according to the release.
The Kmart, which was an anchor store when Pullman Square Plaza opened in November 1993, closed its doors in the summer of 2017 when 49 locations were shuttered nationwide due to declining sales.
The nearest Gabe’s store to Butler is in Monroeville.
