John McDonough
John McDonough, 58, of Meridian passed away at 5:34 p.m. Thursday, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 14, 1957, to Dennis and Mary Shkuratoff McDonough.
John attended the Holy Sepulchre grade school and graduated in 1975 from Mars High School.
John accepted people for who they were, treating everyone with kindness and respect, thus giving him a vast array of friendships from the young and old alike.
He was a dedicated and hard worker, working various jobs, before making a career at Marburger Dairy as a milkman.
John married the former Shari Czzowitz on June 6, 1981, and they were blessed with five boys, Eric of Butler, Seth (Ashley) of North Carolina, Jay (Jessica) of Vermont, Chad of Butler and Kevin (Amanda Ackerman) of Vermont. He also was blessed with his grandsons, Patrick and Keegan.
John loved to garden, camp and spend time with family and friends. He had a tremendous love for motorcycle riding and especially loved his Moto Guzzi motorcycles. John loved to take the scenic route and was often heard saying, “It's not about the destination, it's about the journey.”
John leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Shari; his sons, Eric, Seth, Jay, Chad and Kevin, and their families; and his beloved Moto Guzzi motorcycles.
Also surviving are his brothers, Bill (Lauren), Dennis Jr., Mike (Gudrun) and Bob (Rose); his sisters, M.L. (Greg) Longshore, Joan (Steve) Wagner, Josie (Kent) Shoemaker, Deb (Dave) Lewis and Chrissy (Leon) Cherry; his father-in-law, Stanley J. Czzowitz; his Czzowitz family, Zoe Ann Fuqua, Wayne Czzowitz, Paul (Tonya) Czzowitz, Jennie (Scott) Straynick, Gary Czzowitz, Marie (Brian) Collins and Laura Czzowitz; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Mary McDonough; his mother-in-law, Marilyn Czzowitz; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
MCDONOUGH — Family and friends of John McDonough, who died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, are invited to gather from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
