Catherine Joanne Grenci McDonough lost her battle with lung cancer July 13.

Cathy was born June 13, 1944, in Rome, Ga. She was a 1962 graduate of Butler High School and graduated from Carlow College before earning her master’s degree at the University of Pittsburgh.

She lived in Pittsburgh until retirement where upon Cathy and her husband moved to Safety Harbor, Fla.

Cathy is survived by her husband, James McDonough; three children, Carrie McDonough of Clearwater, Fla., Jayme McDonough of Pittsburgh and Patrick McDonough of Leesburg, Va. She is also survived by her sister, Francine Grenci Hindman of Butler; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Cathy was always a fan of engaging with others online. She loved reading news websites, participating in various forums, buying and selling on eBay and finally corresponding with others across the globe through online connections.
