L. David Fisher

L. David Fisher

Pastor L. David Fisher, Th.D., 90, of Butler, passed away in the comfort of his home on Sunday, June 13, 2021. He has left his earthly body behind and will now forever be in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was born on Nov. 9, 1930, in Akron, Ohio, and was the son of the late Frank and Grace Fisher.

David graduated from Practical Bible Training School, attended Bob Jones University, and then went on to receive his doctorate from Clarksville School of Theology.

David Fisher served as the pastor of Homeacre Chapel for 65 years, and was the founder and administrator of Homeacre Christian Academy. He spent many years dedicated to Evangelical ministries, as well as participating in mission trips to Africa.

Pastor Fisher was all about helping others, whether it was helping someone find Jesus, or helping others through other positions in the community. He trusted God completely, and listened daily for God’s instructions. He was selfless and lived to please God. He was a great example of a man that followed God, and there is no doubt his legacy followed him to Heaven.

On Feb. 14, 1950, he married the love of his life, Zelma “Mickey” Sparks, who survives. From this union, six children were born: Dawn Oesterling, Jeanna (Colt) Stallings, Roseann Thornton, Daniel Fisher, Nathan Fisher and Becky (Russ) Ray.
