George D. Sidley
George D. Sidley, 90, of Harrisville died Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
George was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Forrestville, Butler County, to the late Arthur and Alma M. Sidley.
George married Ruby L. Rihel on June 10, 1948. She preceded him in death March 9, 2007.
George attended grade school in Hilliards and graduated high school in Hooker. George retired from Cooper Energy in Grove City in January of 1992; he was a pipe fitter. He was a life member of the NRA.
George loved the outdoors, being an active hunter and fisherman when his health permitted. George put in a beautiful garden each year. George was a member of Rocky Springs Church, where he and his wife attended for many years.
Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his children, Ella Mae Ford and her husband, Kenneth “Buzzy,” of Kennerdell; and his son, Larry G. Sidley and his wife, Kim, of Butler; his sister, Carrie Belle of West Virginia; his grandchildren, Chad Ford of Kennerdell, Andrew Sidley of Butler, Shannon Sidley of Butler, and Stephanie Ford of Polk; and his great-grandchildren twins, Crosby and Garrett Ford of Polk.
George was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one grandson, Jay D. Ford, who died Sept. 14, 2011; and his brother, Delton Sidley.
SIDLEY — Family of George D. Sidley, who died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, will welcome friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home.Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Rev.
