Joseph F. Mancino Sr.

Joseph F. Mancino Sr., 85, of Butler died Sunday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born March 18, 1932, in Ellwood City, Lawrence County, he was a son of the late Victor G. Mancini and Mary Cioffi Mancini Tiberi.

A graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1949, Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Korean War.

He was a police officer in Fairborn, Ohio, from 1959 until 1966. He was then employed as a steelworker at Butler Armco from 1966 until his retirement in 1994. In addition, he worked as a homebuilder with Paul McCaw.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Joe is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna Kay James Mancino; one son, Joseph F. Mancino Jr., and his wife, Juliet Mengon Mancino, of Cranberry Township; one daughter, Victoria Stutz and her husband, Francis, of East Butler; four grandchildren, Tiffany L. Wilson (Doug Mazzanti), Kayla M. Kiser (Shane), Emily K. Mancino and Matthew J. Mancino; two step-grandchildren, Patrick Stutz (Denisse) and Christopher Stutz (Katie); three great-grandsons, Ian J. Wilson, Gavin J. Wilson, and Owen D. Kiser; four step-great-grandchildren, Nicco Stutz, Rocco Stutz, Conner Stutz and Coralynn Stutz; a sister, Frances G. Guadagni and her husband, Mario, of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Frank Tiberi, two brothers, Victor G. Mancini Jr. and Ferdinand L. Mancino; and three sisters, Gloria G. Catalfano and Dolores Botti. Virginia E. Boda, his sister, died Monday, just one day after Joe.

MANCINO — Visitation for Joseph F. Mancino Sr., who died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to VNA Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001. The Bereavement Group of St. Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Tuesday to conduct a scriptural wake service.For more information, please visit www.martinfh.net.
