A number of Hunter-Trapper Education courses will soon be available in the area.

They include:

June 5-6: Summit Township Sportsmen’s Club, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

June 10: Mars Rod and Gun Club, 9 a.m.to 4:30 p.m., lunch provided by club.

June 24: Slippery Rock Sportsmen’s Club, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

July 8: Peaceful Valley Campground, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

July 22: Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 8 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Online registration on the Game Commission’s website is recommended for all of these courses. Traditional classroom, training is free of charge.

[naviga:h3]Basketball camp[/naviga:h3]

HERMITAGE — Kennedy Catholic High School is hosting a basketball skills camp for girls and boys in kindergarten through ninth grade.

The camp runs June 20-23, girls from 9 a.m. to noon, boys from 1 to 4 p.m. Fee is $75 and includes a basketball and T-shirt.

[naviga:h3]Golf Classic nears[/naviga:h3]

JEFFERSON TWP — Openings remain for golfers and sponsorships at the 2017 Concordia Lutheran Ministries Golf Classic July 10 at Treesdale Golf & Country Club.

Registration, breakfast and skill contests begin the day’s activities at 8:30 a.m. Putting green and driving range open at 9 a.m. and the shotgun scramble format begins at 10:30 a.m.

A banquet follows.
