Jane M. Gold
Jane M. Gold of Zelienople, passed away peacefully at her home Friday surrounded by her loving family.
Jane was born Aug. 28, 1934, to Millard and Florence Smith. She grew up on a farm just outside of Zelienople and graduated from Zelienople High School in 1954, after which she worked for Wykoff Steel in Ambridge.
Jane loved attending dances at “Alts Dance Hall,” where she met William Gold, whom she married in 1957. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm in northern Butler County for many years.
It was there that Jane enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and raising horses and dogs; she was a true animal lover.
Her most cherished role in her life was that of being a mother to her four children. She worked tirelessly from morning to night working on the farm and taking care of her family. She never missed a sporting event, concert or play, encouraging every endeavor that her children pursued. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling and watching her grandchildren reaching life's milestones.
Jane leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, William (Gail) Gold Jr. of Austin, Texas, Denny (Bonny) Gold of Franklin, Pa., Janey (Earl) Cumberland of Effort, Pa., and Gayle Gold of Zelienople; seven grandchildren; her brother, Millard Smith of Bellevue, and her sister, Janice (Earl) Dunfee of Hopewell Township.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, William Gold, who died Oct. 29, 1997; and her brother, Jerry Smith.
GOLD — Friends of Jane M. Gold who died Friday, March 16, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral to celebrate Jane's life will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Reid Moon officiating. Jane will be laid to rest at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zelienople.Memorial contributions in Jane's honor may be made to The Michael J.
