Joseph Paul Wheeler Jr., 61, of Leland, N.C., formerly of Evans City, unexpectedly passed away with family by his side on March 25, 2022, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C.

Born on July 14, 1960, in Lawrence, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph Wheeler and Norma Weaver.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Amy (Kretzler) Wheeler of Leland, N.C.; one daughter, Dana (Shane) Tuerr of Arizona; a stepson, Travis McCandless of Zelienople; one granddaughter, Rhyder Tuerr of Arizona; two sisters, Dawn (Jimmy) Smith of Arizona and Brigitte August of Florida; a brother-in-law, Lawrence (Cindy) Kretzler of Gibsonia; and his sisters-in-law, Elaine (Shawn) Rush of Connoquenessing and Debra Harper (Bill) of Zelienople.

He is also survived by his Uncle Ralph; a few nieces and a nephew; and some really good friends.
