School officials learn ID of bomb threat suspect
JEFFERSON TWP — Officials with the South Butler County School District know who made a bomb threat to the high and middle schools over the weekend, but they won’t publicly talk about the person.
School police, in conjunction with state and other law enforcement, determined the identity of the person responsible for the anonymous social media postings implying there was a bomb at the school complex on Dinnerbell Road.
But the district has not release information about the alleged perpetrator.
The investigation, which included extensive interviews, determined the information was baseless.
Classes were held Monday because nothing was found during a search of the complex. In addition to school police, the Allegheny County Sheriff’s office used a bomb-sniffing K-9.
The district will continue enhanced security protocols in buildings as a precaution.
