Picrow Streaming Inc. plans to use locations in Mars for filming for an upcoming Amazon IMDb TV series, “Sprung,” later in September.

“Sprung” is a comedy TV series from Greg Garcia, creator of “My Name is Earl.” It stars Garret Dillahunt, Illeana Douglas and Philip Garcia.

The series will follow Jack, played by Dillahunt, a recently released convicted criminal who decides to turn his life around and foil people, taking advantage of others during the coronavirus pandemic. The show was greenlit in April and will air on Amazon's free IMDb TV streaming service.

Location manager Larry Geyer sent an email to the Mars Borough Council, and the proposal was discussed at a borough meeting Monday night. The borough council deferred voting to approve the filming until its next meeting at the beginning of September.
