Sydney Rasp, 17, of Evans City was named 2011-2012 Butler County Dairy Princess at the pageant held June 4 at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church.A senior at Seneca Valley High School, she is the daughter of Charles and Carin Rasp.Sydney's sister,

Maggie Rasp, is a Butler County Dairy Miss.Sydney enjoys helping at her family's Rasp Farm. The farm is currently milking 35 cows, a mixed herd of Holsteins and Brown Swiss. She would like to pursue a career in dairy science and work in the breeding of dairy cows.

<B>Miranda Lutz</B>, 17, of Zelienople was crowned Butler County Alternate Dairy Princess. A senior at Seneca Valley High School, she is the daughter of John and Donna Lutz.Sydney and Miranda have a Dairy Court of 10 members.There are three Dairy Ambassadors, <B>Trisha Covert</B> of Chicora, daughter of Ivan and Becky Covert; <B>Michelle Hartzell </B>of Slippery Rock, daughter of George and Kathy Hartzell; and <B>Larissa Lesney </B>of Butler, daughter of Steve and Paula Lesney.There are two Dairy Maids, <B>Robin Peters </B>of Connoquenessing, daughter of Steve and Lona Peters; and <B>Sadie Schiever</B> of Harmony, daughter of Mike and Annette Schiever.Other members include Dairy Misses <B>Maggie Rasp</B>; <B>Lane Kummer </B>of Evans City, daughter of Scott and Kate Kummer; <B>Charlene Rosenberger </B>of Sarver, daughter of Jack and Crystal Rosenberger; Lil' Misses <B>Mercedes Guynup </B>of Butler, daughter of Mary Beth Guynup; and <B>Brooklyn Peters </B>of Connoquenessing, daughter of Steve and Lona Peters.———

<B>Tiffany Elizabeth Keffalas</B>, 16, performed the national anthem June 3 at the opening ceremonies at Lernerville Speedway.She also competed in the Miss Saxonburg Pageant at June 17 at the Saxonburg Fire Hall.A junior at Butler High School, she is the daughter of Jim and Karen Keffalas of Butler Township.———

<B>Madison Roth</B>, 12, of Cabot was crowned Junior Miss Riverfest on June 4. She performed a balance beam routine to “Born in the USA” by Bruce Springsteen, which she will perform again July 16 at Riverfest.A seventh-grade student at Knoch Middle School, she is the daughter of Donald and Carianne Roth of Cabot.———

<B>Howard J. Weir </B>of Butler received the 2011 Butler County Pomona Grange Community Service Award.A 50-year member of Unionville Grange, Weir still serves in many offices of Subordinate and Pomona Grange and works on many degree teams. He belongs to the National Grange.He belongs to Masonic societies in Butler, New Castle and Erie. He also is a member of the American Legion, VFW and Butler Elks.He received the Granger of the Year Award in 1992.———

The Butler Little Theatre ended its 70th season June 11 with its annual business meeting and social at Haser's in Butler.Volunteers including <B>Phillip Ball, Art Black, Casey Bowser, Bob Craig, Tessa Flannery, Keith Osborne, Jana Semler, Jud Michael Stewart </B>and <B>Katy Wayne </B>were honored with certificates of recognition and appreciation awards.<B>Marge Bankert, Bonnie Cahill, Sue Collar, Stefan Lingenfelter, Marsha Seybert</B> and<B> Sue Switzer</B> were elected to the BLT board of directors.<B>Becky Plymale</B> and <B>Dave Deal </B>were named Life Members. Dave's posthumous award was accepted by longtime friend and collaborator <B>Shirley Ann Minehart</B>.———

The Dunbar Community Center Pageant was held on May 14.<B>Catarah Cain</B>, 7, of Butler was named 2011 Little Miss Dunbar. She is the daughter of Harriet Cain and Ivan Cumba of Butler.<B>Ruby Waggoner</B>, 9, of Butler was named Junior Miss Dunbar. She is the daughter of Michael and Mary Waggoner of Butler.———
