Carolyn Pithers
Carolyn Jean Pithers, 87, of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Butler, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020 after a long illness.
Born Dec. 1, 1932, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Regina J. Dandoy Heaton.
Carolyn was a 1950 graduate of Butler High School.
She worked in the office at Trader Horn/Warehouse Sales South for 20 years until her retirement in 1997.
Carolyn was a longtime member of St. Peter Episcopal Church in Butler, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.
She was a member of Maqueda Chapter 421, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the Butler Amaranth Chapter. She had been an adviser to the Butler Assembly of Rainbow Girls as well.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna J.; and son, Dale R. Pithers and his wife, Amy of Raleigh, N.C.; two granddaughters, Jessica and Allison; and one great-grandson, Nathan, all of Raleigh; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Pithers, whom she married Dec. 28, 1950, and who died Nov. 16, 1994; and her two brothers, William and Charles Heaton.
Pithers — There will be no public visitation in Butler for Carolyn Jean Pithers, who died Sept. 24, 2020. Arrangements will be made in Raleigh under the direction of Wright Cremations and Funeral Services, High Point, N.C.
Burial will be at Butler Memorial Park Cemetery in Butler.
