Raymond Kenney Jr.
Raymond P. “Chief” Kenney Jr., 89, a longtime resident of Cranberry Township, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.
Born Aug. 9, 1931, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Raymond P. Kenney Sr. and Grace Quirin Kenney.
Raymond proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.He was a member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, and he coached Little League Pirates Baseball in the 1970s.A craftsman by trade, “Chief” was the fixer of all things, broken or not. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family.To cherish his memory, Raymond leaves behind his children, Kimberly Kenney of Cranberry Township, Raymond P. (Cary Lou) Kenney III of Mercer, Timothy Kenney of Zelienople, Tammy (Mark) Morrissey of Cranberry Township and Vicki Kenney of Zelienople; his grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Morrissey, Rachel (Samuel) Morrissey Alberth, Shawn Kenney and Ryan (Heather) Vantine; his great-grandson, Benjamin Alberth; and his niece, Kerry Donati.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ecklund Kenney, who passed away Oct. 1, 1998, and his sister, Grace Donati.KENNEY — Services for Raymond P. “Chief” Kenney Jr., who died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, will be held privately by his family.He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery in Ross Township.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
