Leo H. Weiland

Leo H. Weiland, 77, of Butler died Monday at his home.

He was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Butler to the late Joseph B. and Florence Marie Eyth Weiland.

He was the husband of the late Sally Ann Boyer Lo Storto Weiland, who passed away Sept. 5, 2013.

Leo was retired from Armco where he worked as an electrician for many years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He served 38 years in the U.S. Air Force and Army Reserve.

Surviving are his son, Jeffrey (Debra) Weiland of Matthews, N.C.; his two daughters, Lee Ann (Chuck) Rinaman of Mars and Wendy (George) McCrea of Fenelton; his four stepsons, Vincent Lo Storto of Phoenix, Ariz., Eric (Heather) Lo Storto of Sarasota, Fla., Edward J. (Sandy) Berry of West Sunbury and Frank R. (Toni) Berry of Knox; his two stepdaughters, Vickie (John) Zahradnik of Butler and Laural (Thomas) McCommon of Butler; his eight grandchildren, Kendell and Elias Weiland, Ori and Bret Rinaman, Jason, Morgan, Ryan and Seth McCrea. He is also survived by numerous stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren and stepgreat-great-grandchildren; his three sisters, Virginia Birckbicher of Butler, Madeline “Sis” Neff of Butler and Norma Jean Kudamik; three brothers, Donald (Emma) Weiland of Butler, Robert (Grace) Weiland of Butler and Francis “Gabby” (Doris) Weiland of Butler and numerous nieces and nephews. His sister-in-law, Donna Weiland of Butler, and his brother-in-law, Jack Gibbs, of Butler also survive.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Joan Gibbs of Butler, and two brothers, Thomas and David Weiland of Butler.
