Butler County Symphony's lunchtime Concerts to Munch By take place from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 19, all at the symphony office, 259 S. Main St. The scheduled performers for Wednesday are Brian Schaffner, Mike Simms and Mike Swigart. Guests may take a bag lunch or buy one for $3 from City Subs. Call 724-283-1402.
A free Family Summer Concert Series, sponsored by Butler County Parks and Recreation Department, takes place Tuesdays at Alameda Park. The shows begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Carousel Shelter. Performing on Tuesday will be the Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic, a 35-piece group. Admission is free. Call 724-284-5383.
"Rock 4 Grace," a lineup of area bands with an all-star jam at the end, is planned for Sunday at Alameda Park's outdoor covered stage. The park is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Take lawn chairs and coolers. Admission is by donation. The concert is a benefit for the family of Grace Bartley, wife of guitarist Tim Bartley of the band Plastic Finger, who died of cancer May 20. She had two children. Bands scheduled to play include Plastic Finger, Washboard Tony and Friends, The Grove, The Calamity and Die Smylin.
Watermelon Wednesdays return to Slippery Rock Park this summer with concerts every Wednesday in July. The shows take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Music and watermelon are free. Playing Wednesday will be Chris Buhler, Rich Warham and Nyomin. Call 724-794-8180.
