Ada Myers
Ada Myers, 85, of Slippery Rock passed away Thursday at the Shelbourne Assisted Living.
She was born Feb. 14, 1932, in Harwick, Pa., the daughter of the late William A. Johnson and Hanna M. McWilliams Johnson.
In her early days, Ada and her husband liked to shoot competitive archery and play cards with their dear friends Ruth and the late Ed Swigart.
She was an avid bowler and bowled many years on a Saturday league and also enjoyed pitching horseshoes and bean bags with her family and friends.
Surviving are five daughters Debbie (Tom) Ewing of Butler, Pamela (Lee) Mrocek of Butler, Lori (Frank Sharbuno) Manfredi of Cocoa, Fla., Shari (John) Franasiak of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Wendy (Bob) Scanlon of Slippery Rock; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Myers, who died Jan. 9, 2017; her son, Gene “Buddy” Myers Jr.; her grandson Evan Boy; four sisters; and four brothers.
MYERS — Friends of Ada Myers, who died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Saturday.
