McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, just over the county line into Lawrence County off Route 422, will be the site of a Salamandar Safari at 4 p.m. Friday (meet at the Hells Hollow Trail parking lot) and a Volunteer Work Day on Aug. 19.
