F. LeRoy Albert

F. LeRoy Albert, 88, of Butler passed away peacefully Saturday evening at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born Dec. 1, 1928, in Butler, he was a son of the late Ernest C. Albert and Marie E. Angert Albert.

LeRoy was a cable technician for the Sprint-United Telephone Co., for 43 years, retiring in March of 1990. He was a member of the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 117 in Butler. He loved sports and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mostly, his life was centered around his family.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Mary Smith Albert, who he married Sept. 26, 1953; four sons, James (Nancy) Albert, George (Brenda) Albert, and Joe Albert, all of Butler, and John (Amy) Albert of Saxonburg; three daughters, Mary Lee (Tim) Marshall, Jude (Jayme) Russo and Joyce (Bill) Knass, all of Butler; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter.

ALBERT — Friends of F. LeRoy Albert, who died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert J. Cedolia, pastor, and the Rev. Kevin Fazio will concelebrate. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum of Calvary Cemetery in Butler.
