Linda Jean (Pierotti) Cooper

Linda Jean (Pierotti) Cooper

Linda Jean (Pierotti) Cooper, 64, of Slippery Rock passed away peacefully on Sunday surrounded by her family and friends.

Linda was born on Monday, Feb. 1, 1954, in Pittsburgh, and was the daughter of the late Donald and Sylvia Pierotti of Pittsburgh. She was raised by her amazing grandmother, Anna R. Thompson, also of Pittsburgh.

Linda was a graduate of North Hills High School Class of 1971.

In 1973, she was honored to be “Miss Three Rivers” of Pittsburgh. After mastering the beauty pageant world, Linda enjoyed life in the construction industry where she became a union glazier. She proudly took responsibility for many of the windows you see today in the city of Pittsburgh.

Linda had a great passion for growing a beautiful garden to share with her friends, hosting and entertaining events of extreme proportions and the perfect palate for finely aged scotch.

She was a proud supporter of her hometown sports teams, one of the lucky ones to actually drink from the Stanley Cup.

Her gatherings were always memorable and attendance was an honor. She enjoyed traveling especially to Disney World, where all of the characters knew her by name.

Her three true loves were her devoted husband, Alan Frank Cooper; her larger than life dog, Norman; and the one and only Mickey Mouse.

She and Alan met at a Halloween party, quickly fell in love and became one on Oct. 26, 2002.

As a “Domestic Goddess,” Linda enjoyed watching sunsets on Cooper's Lake and hosting the largest events known to the area. One of her greatest passions was for a special group of people in the Society for Creative Anachronism, where she found the love of family one could only hope for. Those who attended the “Pennsic War” at Cooper's Lake Campground each year, such as Black Talon, Gabriel's Landing, Vlad's and her extended Scadian family, quickly became more than friends; they were members of her family. The bond built between them was so strong that many members came from far and wide to see her to the other side where she was greeted by her beloved friend, Christos; and her dog, Alex Frank.

Linda Cooper had a zest for life and an enduring humor that she kept until the very end. Even in her final days, she found the strength to smile and laugh when she saw Mickey Mouse painted on a grown man's finger nails. To know her was to love her and if you didn't, you missed knowing one of the brightest stars in the sky.

Linda is survived by her husband, Alan F. Cooper at home; her chosen daughter, Veronica L. Michleski of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Cindy A. (Dennis) Strickland of Belle View, and Shari L. Medford of North Hills; three brothers, Donald R. (Donna) Pierotti of San Antonio, Texas, Keith H. (Sue) Pierotti of Parker, and Brian W. Pierotti of West View; a number of nieces and nephews; and her extended family within the Pennsic Gathering.

COOPER — A memorial service for Linda Jean (Pierotti) Cooper, who died Sunday, June 10, 2018, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Cooper's Lake Campground, 120 Lake Lane, Slippery Rock.
