SLIPPERY ROCK — Mark Tanner pitched a three-hit shutout as the Slippery Rock University baseball team blanked Seton Hill 2-0 at Critchfield Park Thursday.
Tanner struck out eight and walked four in the gem.
Slippery Rock High graduate Matt Messer went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for The Rock, which scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Butler girl to play volleyball in Miss.
Butler native Mary Jeanne Kenyon, a senior volleyball player at First Baptist Christian School, signed a letter of intent to play at Belhaven College in Jackson, Miss.
Kenyon, a defensive specialist, played seven years of club volleyball for King of the Court.
