Cranberry YMCA hosts healthy kids day April 9
CRANBERRY TWP — The Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA will have a healthy kids day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 9.
The free event is sponsored by the Cranberry Township Noon Rotary Club.
Activities and demonstrations will be outside and in the center’s two gyms. They will include face painting, hop scotch, martial arts, gymnastics, lacrosse, an obstacle course and a magic show.
Participating organizations include Boy Scout Troop 344, the Andy Warhol Museum and the Mars High School girls lacrosse team.

In conjunction with the event, the Rotary Club will hold a golf ball drop fundraiser at 3 p.m.
With help from the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Department, 1,000 golf balls will be placed in a large bucket and dropped on a field painted with a target. The ticket-holder of the balls closest and furthest from the target will win cash prizes.
Proceeds will benefit the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, the fire company and the Rotary Club’s suicide prevention project and other service projects.

Nationally Healthy Kids Day is scheduled for April 30. It is a national initiative by the YMCA to improve the healthy and well-bring of children, according to its website.
