Sleigher

Nancy J. (Geagan) Sleigher, 72, of East Butler, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at South Baldwin Regional Center in Foley, Ala.

She was born May 17, 1949, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late John William Geagan Jr. and Betty (Livermore) Davis.

Nancy was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America.

She was a summa cum laude graduate of Butler County Community College in 1987, and graduated from Slippery Rock University with a B.S. in elementary education in 1989.

She was a member of WIC (Women in Church) and volunteered at many activities at church. Nancy was a mobile psychiatric rehabilitation specialist for Irene Stacy Community Health Center.

Surviving are her husband, Michael J. Sleigher of East Butler; two sons, Michael James Sleigher of Butler and Jeffrey Allen Sleigher of Butler; two grandsons, John and Alex; a great-grandson, Jackson; two sisters, Carolyn (George) Clark of Butler and Kathleen (Gary) Kradel of Butler; her half-brother, Kenneth (Tracy) Davis of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

SLEIGHER — A memorial service for Nancy J. (Geagan) Sleigher, who died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in America , 420 N. Main St., Butler, with her pastor, Dan Ledford, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler.

Private interment will be held in St. John's Reformed Cemetery.
