Raymond R. Snyder

Raymond R. Snyder, 70, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a more than 10-year battle with Parkinson's disease.

Ray was born May 20, 1948, in Grove City. He was the son of the late W. Edgar Snyder and the late Ruth L. Byers Snyder.

Ray retired with 35 years of service from Armco Steel. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and classic television shows.

Ray was of the Presbyterian faith.

Ray is survived by his wife, Patricia D. Ekis Snyder, whom he married Oct. 16, 1970; one daughter, Mandy D. Blank and her husband, Edward, of Butler; one son, Sean R. Snyder of Cranberry Township; one grandson, Kenneth A. Blank and one granddaughter, Brittany D. Blank, both of Butler; and two brothers, Thomas C. (Rose) Snyder and Carl H. (Beverly) Snyder, both of Butler. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Ray was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald; and an infant brother.

SNYDER — The family of Raymond R. Snyder, who died Tuesday, May 22, 2018, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Hindman officiating.Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.If desired, online condolences may be submitted at www.williamfyoungfh.com.
