University junior named fair queen

Rebecca Tyson, 20 of Slippery Rock was named 2010 Butler Fair Queen.2009 Butler Fair Queen Gretchen Perschke crowned her successor.Tyson will represent the Fair at community events and parades. She will also reign over activities during the 155th Big Butler Fair from July 2 to 10.Tyson is a junior at Slippery Rock University, where she is pursuing a degree in business and computers.She is the daughter of Dave and Becky Tyson of Slippery Rock.

Anna Flick of Fenelton was crowned Butler Fair Princess. She is the daughter of Randy and Beth Flick of Fenelton.

Maggy Krebs of Evans City was named Butler Fair Ambassador.The

Krystle Foertsch a $50 check for best speech. She is the daughter of Bill and Mandy Foertsch of Jefferson Township.

A record-setting $115,431 to benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund was raised June 7 at the 23rd annual St. Barnabas Charitable Golf Open at the Butler Country Club. Winning the tournament's Bell Trophy were Geoff Smathers, Win Smathers, Crock Hunter and David Hunter.Master of ceremonies at the tournament's dinner and awards banquet was Todd McDermott of WPXI-TV.Conducting the live auction was Jim Roddey, St. Barnabas spokesman and former Allegheny County chief executive. Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary, and Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen, among other dignitaries.Robinson was accompanied by her daughter Jennifer Mowry.The Embassy was opened in 1960 by the late King Frederick the Ninth, the Crown Prince's grandfather.
