#1 Cochran helps SV baseball

ZELIENOPLE — #1 Cochran Chevrolet is partnering with the Seneca Valley Baseball Boosters to provide new equipment for this season.

This marks the 17th year of Chevrolet’s Youth Baseball & Softball program and has benefitted more than nine million players. Last year, more than 1,100 Chevrolet dealers participated across the country.

#1 Cochran will present the SV Baseball Boosters an equipment kit that includes equipment bags, first aid kits, batting tees and ball buckets. It will also present a $500 check representing a one-time donation to SV Baseball Boosters.

Parenti takes 2nd at Bethany meet

BETHANY, W.Va. — Moniteau graduate James Parenti, a junior thrower on the Grove City College track and field team, took second in the discus during the season-opening Bethany College Invitational.

Parenti threw the discus 138 feet, 10 inches. Grove City led all Division III schools in the meet with 150 points.

Union, SR girls in all-star game

CLARION — Slippery Rock’s Bronwyn McCoy and Union’s Keira Croyle, Dominika Logue and Hailey Kriebel will be playing in the second annual Clarion County YMCA District 9/District 10 All-Star Girls Basketball Game at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The game — which will be followed by a boys game at 3:45 p.m. — will be played at the Clarion County YMCA.

Admission at the door is $5 and covers both games. All proceeds benefit the Michael A. Constantino Memorial Scholarship Fund at the YMCA, this trust funding swim lessons for children in need.
