Carl Vance Kromer
Carl Vance Kromer, 54, of Liberty Township, Grove City, Pa., suddenly passed away at AHN-Grove City on Thursday, April 15, 2021, due to natural causes.
He was born in Grove City on June 11, 1966, to Carl Bruce Kromer and Juanita Bell Kromer. He married Pamela Sue (Bowser) Feather on Oct. 10, 2020. They had been together for over 19 years.
Carl was a U.S. Marine veteran, having served from 1984 to 1988. He was employed by Metz Culinary Management, where he was a director of food service for over 16 years. He initially managed food service at Commodore Perry School District and later Ellwood City School District, and most recently was director of food service for the Slippery Rock Area schools. He attended East Brook ECO Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, was an avid science fiction reader, was in a billiard/pool league, enjoyed shooting guns and watching Steelers football. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and their dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela, at home; son, Cody V. Kromer of Greenville; two stepchildren, Kaitlyn J. Feather of Grove City and Cameron J. Feather of Erie; his father, Carl B. “Sonny” (Janet) Kromer of Dolan Springs, Ariz.; two sisters, Lynn Day of Henderson of Nevada and Tracy Grossman of Grove City; three brothers, Dan B. Kromer of Volant and Mark Kromer and Matthew Kromer, both of Henderson, Nev.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Anderson.
KROMER — A public memorial service for Carl Vance Kromer, who died Thursday, April 15, 2021, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at East Brook ECO Presbyterian Church, 3727 PA 388, New Castle, PA 16101. Family and friends will gather at the church from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. service. The service will be led by Rev. Jason Schepp.Arrangements are being handled by SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
