Carol Louise Blank

Carol Louise Blank of Saxonburg passed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday at West Penn Hospital.

Carol was born Jan. 27, 1944, in Wilkinsburg to Louis Reinhard Blank and Marie Lillian Petrie Blank. She graduated from Wilkinsburg High School in 1962 before moving to Saxonburg.

She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saxonburg, where she had served as the church's secretary, the newsletter coordinator and was on the Altar Guild, the Golden Milestone Ministry, the Prayer Chain, the Oktoberfest Task Force, the Senior Stars, the Social Committee and the Evangelism Committee.

Carol had worked two years at the Remnant Shop in Cabot and 37 years at Stanley's Bakery in Butler, 25 years having been a cake decorator.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marie Hazel Blank in 1988; and her grandparents, Louis and Hazel (Martin) Blank and William and Elenora (Caldwell) Petrie.

She is survived by one uncle, William Petrie; two aunts, Ethel Petrie Leroy and Alice Gorres Petrie; and 13 cousins. She is also survived by her dear friends, Lillian Krehely, Jen Hohmann and Judy Moore.

BLANK — Friends of Carol Louise Blank, who died Friday, March 18, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home in Saxonburg.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saxonburg with the Rev. Roger G. Keller officiating.Burial will be at the Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery with her family.
