Rose Grindel Jesteadt
Rose Grindel Jesteadt, 92, of Prospect peacefully passed away Thursday with family by her side.
Born Feb. 2, 1925, in Irwin, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Magdalena George Grindel.
She was a member of St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Prospect.
Rose enjoyed her family, doing puzzles, canning, playing cards, working in the greenhouse and in her yard, and walks along Grindel Road.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Jesteadt, who she married Aug. 28, 1948; her children, Kenneth (Paula) Jesteadt of Prospect, Carol (Thomas) Hunsberger of Greencastle, Pa., Gerald (Kathy) Jesteadt of East Brady, Ronald (Brenda) Jesteadt of Wexford, Cheryl (Toby) Vollnogle of Prospect, Jack (Beth) Jesteadt of Colorado, Thomas Jesteadt of Prospect, Chris (Bruce) Shaffer of Prospect and Diane (Jeff) Pritts of Prospect; 26 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Audrey Mathews of Valencia, Lewis “Pete” Grindel of Evans City and Lillian Davis of Harrisburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin Jesteadt; and seven siblings, Mag Kainz, Mary Hudak, John Grindel, Ambrose Grindel, Robert Grindel, Norbert Grindel and Loraine Bray.
JESTEADT — Visitation for Rose Grindel Jesteadt, who died Thursday, March 23, 2017, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Edward L Rasely Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Prospect.Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.Memorial contributions may be given to the Portersville Food Pantry, P.O.
