Marion Lois Brethauer
Marion Lois Brethauer, 82, of Portersville passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday.
Born Nov. 18, 1936, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Edwin D. Brautigam and Clara B. (Spotts) Brautigam.
Marion was a member of the Zelienople Church of the Nazarene, where she received a distinguished service award for her years of dedication.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling, quilting and knitting, where she used her talent in the Caps for Kids program.
Marion was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Marion is survived by two sons, Eric (MaryJane) Brethauer and Kirk (Carol) Brethauer; three daughters, Michele Shaffer and her husband, Gary Fisher, Laura (Mike) Hawkins and Brenda (Jim) Herold; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer (Hawkins) Lang, Amanda Hawkins, Bette Jane Brethauer, Ken Doerr, Andrea (Shaffer) Furka, Luke Shaffer, Katie Shaffer, Alex Herold, Levi Herold and Marina Snowden; and her great-grandson, Logan Shaffer.
In addition to her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, William Carl Brethauer Jr., whom she married on March 8, 1958, and who passed away on Feb. 17, 2016; a son-in-law, Tom Shaffer; and three siblings, Edwin Brautigam, Dolores Tew and Ernest Brautigam.
BRETHAUER — The family of Marion Lois Brethauer, who died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Zelienople Church of the Nazarene, 115 Nazarene Court, Fombell, with Pastor Scott McMahon officiating.Marion will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that monetary donations be made to the HOPE Food Pantry, P.O.
