MARSHALL TWP, Allegheny County — Police in Allegheny County are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly robbed a bank Wednesday morning.

Around 9:05 a.m. the suspect walked into the First National Bank branch on Devine Drive near the intersection with Route 910.

He approached a teller and gave the teller a note demanding money, though he did not show any weapon, Northern Regional Police Department Chief Robert Amann said.

Bank employees handed over an unknown amount of money and the man was last seen leaving the bank on foot.

Police deployed a K-9 unit to the bank, which was able to track the man's scent to an area nearby where they suspect a getaway car may have been parked, Amann said.

The bank's security cameras captured pictures of the man, including one where his face is visible.

He is described as a white male with a large build, clean shaven, in his late 30s to early 40s, about 6 feet tall and weighing 250 pounds. He was wearing baggy jeans, a dark green winter coat with hood with a gray hoodie underneath, a Pittsburgh Pirates hat and brown work boots. He had bruises under both eyes with a bandage underneath both eyes and across the nose.

The bank re-opened to customers Wednesday after being closed for a couple hours.

Northern Regional Police and the FBI Pittsburgh Division are jointly investigating the robbery. Anyone who recognizes the man in the surveillance photo or has information about the robbery is asked to call Northern Regional Police at 724-625-3157.
