Summit man charged with rape
SUMMIT TWP — A 49-year-old man stands accused of sexually assaulting a teenaged girl he met on Facebook.
The defendant, John R. Wroblewski, Jr. of 550 Keck Road, is charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault, aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors.
According to a criminal affidavit, the alleged victim, a 15-year-old girl, told investigators that she and Wroblewski met on Facebook and then chatted back and forth using the Internet program's messenger service for a few weeks before they decided to meet on March 8 “to party.” according to court records.
Wroblewski, the court records state, picked the girl up in her driveway, then picked up another juvenile in Chicora.
The girl told investigators Wroblewski drove the teens to his home, where the defendant allegedly provided alcohol and marijuana.
The girl said she passed out on the couch around 1 a.m. on March 9.
When she woke up, the girl alleges Wroblewski was assaulting her. She told investigators that she kicked the defendant and told him to stop. At that time, the girl claims the other juvenile still was present and playing a video game.
Wroblewski then allegedly took both juveniles home. Later, according to the police complaint, Wroblewski sent the girl other messages on the Internet.
The juveniles are not being identified die to the nature of the crime.
Wroblewski, who was arraigned Thursday. is jailed unable to post $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday before District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.
