Marsha Giles

Giles

Marsha L. Giles, 82, formerly of Chippewa Township and Butler, peacefully passed away and went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2022, in Denver, Colo.

Born Jan. 19, 1940, to Harry Edward and Violet Lucille (Riding) Brown, Marsha spent her early life in Butler.

Soon after marrying William F. Giles Sr. in 1966, they moved to Chippewa, where she lived until she left for Colorado in 2017.

She received her associate degree from Community College of Beaver County, and worked in administrative positions at Western Auto and Bayer over the years.

Marsha was an active member and volunteer at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

Her baking and cooking skills were legendary, and she also enjoyed knitting and needlepoint.

Marsha deeply loved everything Pennsylvania, from Steelers football, to its lush countryside, to fishing its trout-filled streams, to memories and laughs with lifelong friends and family. She and her family also spent many summers fishing on the waters of Lake Erie and traveling throughout the country.

Marsha was deeply devoted to her late husband of 40 years, Bill; her son, Eric; and her stepchildren Lynn, Bill Jr. and Susan. She doted on her grandchildren in every way, and they were truly blessed to have her as a grandmother.

Marsha is survived by her son, Eric Giles, and daughter-in-law, Lynn, of Littleton, Colo., who are both grateful for the extended time they had with her in her final years. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Lynn Young of Beaver; her grandchildren, Erin and AJ Giles, and Alec, Karis and Pierson Brackpool of Littleton, Colo., and Shawn Smith of Cape Coral, Fla.; her stepgrandchildren, William F. Giles III (Rachel) of Unity Township, Ohio, and Raelyn Giles and Michael Giles of Beaver Falls; numerous and beloved nieces and nephews; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her irreplaceable husband, Bill; her sisters, Norma Slater and BeBe Hempfling; and her stepchildren, William F. Giles Jr. and Susan Joy Smith.

Giles, who died Tuesday, March 15, 2022, are welcome at her service which will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2679 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, with a reception immediately following in the adjacent fellowship hall.
