The leadership of the Butler Police Department – Police Chief Ron Brown and Deputy Chief David Adam – have been placed on paid administrative leave, according to Butler Mayor Ben Smith.
Mayor Smith made the comments Thursday night at the Butler City Council meeting.
Brown and Adam received a vote of no confidence last month from the 21 members of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 32, which represents rank-and-file Butler city police officers in collective bargaining. Last month's vote was unanimous, said Lt. Chad Rensel, the acting president of the local FOP.
