Harold Foertsch Sr.
Harold Wilbert Foertsch Sr., 83, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his home.
Born April 27, 1938, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of the late Wilbert J. Foertsch and Dorothy Leona Findley Foertsch.
Harold was an iron worker, herdsman, school bus driver and farmer. He owned and operated Har-Lo Farms Inc. in Jefferson Township.
Harold was a member of Summit Presbyterian Church and the Western PA Tractor Pullers Inc. He served the Butler Farm Show for 37 years, and he spent 31 years serving on the Butler County Farm Service Agency. Harold was the recipient of the 2008 Bullshipper of the Year Award for Butler County. He enjoyed the Farm Show, hunting, tractor pulling, snowmobiling, raising potatoes and ATV riding.
Surviving are his sons, Harold W. Foertsch Jr. of Butler, Robert D. (Inna Marharytova (Tsyndrik) Foertsch of Butler, James E. (Denise Smith) Foertsch of Butler and William L. (Mandi Beck) Foertsch of Butler; his daughter, Diana M. (Donald E.) Lehnerd of Butler; eight grandchildren, Dawn (Broc) Hepler, Christian Foertsch, Ashley (John) McDivitt, Rebecca (Carl) Frey, Krystle (Jeremiah) Glover, Brittany (Zach) Speer, Vladyslav Marharytov and Alexsey Foertsch; three great-grandchildren, Andi Foertsch, Kinzi Foertsch and Ellie Mae Speer; his fiancée of 15 years, Gretchen Ciccarelli, and her daughter, Courtney Ciccarelli of Elizabeth City, N.C.; his brothers, Vernon C. Foertsch of Saxonburg, Errol E. Foertsch of Butler, Wilbert J. Foertsch of Hurricane, W.Va., and Garry L. Foertsch of Cabot; and his sisters, Leona Willis of Mars, Mary Alice Shuler of Butler and Karen O. Foertsch of Butler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois B. Foertsch, who passed away on Sept. 24, 2004; and his sisters, Adele Foertsch, Carol Nelson, Marilyn Shuler and Dorothy Foertsch.
FOERTSCH — Friends of Harold Wilbert Foertsch Sr., who died Tuesday, March 22, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Jones officiating.
Interment will follow at the Foertsch Family Farm.
A celebration of life party will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Har-Lo Farms Inc. Food and drinks will be provided.
