Delene Marie (Pannier) Ford
Delene Marie (Pannier) Ford, 76, of Connoquenessing Township in Renfrew, passed away early Tuesday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born June 23, 1941, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late William Howard and Helen Rose Marie (Tinnemeyer) Pannier.
She was a 1959 graduate of North Allegheny High School and a 1962 graduate of the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing.
She began her nursing career at AGH in Pittsburgh. In 1964, she worked at St. John's in Mars. In 1970, she changed employment to the Wexford House. Delene retired from Evergreen Nursing Home in Harmony. She loved nursing and taking care of the elderly and will be remembered for “giving her love and goodness to others.”
Delene was a member of the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, the Portersville Steam Show Association and the International Harvester Collectors Club.
Delene was dedicated to the Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels program, where she was a cook and she served on the board as a previous secretary. She volunteered for over 25 years at the Butler Farm Show.
She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shaker sets, crocheting and donating to the Caps for Kids program, nature walks with her husband, reading, playing the piano, and attending tractor shows all over the country.
She loved being around people, and her friends said “She left her light behind her.”
She is survived by her loving husband, Edmund Burnell Ford, whom she married Feb. 27, 1965; her children, Lisa (Jose) Velazquez of Newville, Pa.; Curtis (Kendra) Ford of Penn Hills; Joshua (Melinda) Ford of Athens, Ohio; one granddaughter, Christaunia Ford; and one step-granddaughter, Diva; her sister, Lynn (Buddy) Schoch of Butler, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy Ford, who passed away in 1972.
FORD — Visitation for Delene Marie (Pannier) Ford, who died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.Additional viewing will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew, with the Rev.
