Cranberry girl hurt riding bike
A 12-year-old girl was injured when she was riding her bike on Bayberry Lane and was struck by a state police vehicle Thursday morning just after 9:30 a.m.
The girl suffered some cuts and a head injury, but Cranberry Township Police said she was conscious and alert. She is being transported to Children's Hospital for treatment.
Cranberry Township police are assisting the state police in their investigation into the incident.
The girl told police that she was riding her brother's bicycle and she was aware that the front brake was not working, according to a state police news release issued Thursday afternoon.
She was losing control of the bicycle before the crash, the release said.
She was wearing a helmet.
