Della V. Barnhart

Della V. Barnhart, 92, of Chicora passed away Wednesday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler surrounded by her family. She had been a resident of the Chicora Medical Center for the last nine years.

Born in Chicora on May 12, 1925, Della was the daughter of the late Angelo and Theresa Zanella Caliari.

Della was co-owner of Barnhart Trucking in Chicora and was a lifelong member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society.

She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and spending time with her children, sister and grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Lee Barnhart (Virgina) of Chicora, five daughters, Mrs. Sandra (Gerald) Wagner of Sheboygan Falls, Wisc., Rose Ann Miller Humphreys of Doral, Fla., Mrs. Jean (Patrick) Neff of Chicora, Mrs. Patricia (George) Pikoulas of Butler and Mrs. Shirley (Richard) Rattigan of Chicora; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by her husband, Lee E. Barnhart, who died on Oct. 6, 1999; and three brothers, a sister and a grandson.

BARNHART — Friends of Della V. Barnhart, who died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with the Rev. Rick Thompson, church pastor, officiating.Interment will follow at Hemphill Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Chicora VFD, P.O.
