An incredibly full weekend of events is upcoming Sept. 18 and 19.

• First, the Butler Fall Fest offers food, crafts and entertainment on Sept. 18 on Main Street in downtown Butler.

• Oktoberfest is set for Sept. 17 to 19 in Evans City.

• The Slippery Rock VillageFest takes place Sept. 18.

• B.E. Taylor will perform in concert to benefit the VNA Inpatient Hospice at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at Pullman Park, rain or shine.

• Old Stone House will celebrate the history of the American Civil War on Sept. 18 and 19.

• Freeport River Festival with an Anything That Floats race on Sept. 18.

• Penn's Colony begins Sept. 18 and 19 and continues Sept. 25 and 26.

• And finally the 2010-11 Performing Arts Series at Butler County Community College kicks off with "Fall into Jazz" with Kathy Kosins and the Trinity Jazz Orchestra on Sept. 18.

ADAMS TWP — The township's annual Community Day celebration will feature fireworks, a 5K race and hot air balloon rides on Saturday.The festivities will start at Community Park at 9 a.m. when the Adams Area Fire District hosts the Herb Kaufman Memorial 5K race.The morning also will consist of a softball game at 11 a.m. in the park. Free food and other events will be available from 2 to 5 p.m. This year's events will include hay rides, bingo, a fire truck display, a horseshoe tournament and a petting zoo.The night will end with a fireworks display at sundown.

PITTSBURGH — The band Barenaked Ladies performs at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Carnegie Library Music Hall of Homestead, 510 E. 10th Ave., Munhall.
