The U.S. Small Business Administration has named Angel Marschik as the new Western Pennsylvania District Office deputy district director.

Marschik brings a 34-year career in commercial lending and business development and six years of experience at the SBA to her new job overseeing SBA programs in 27 Western Pennsylvania counties from the district office in Pittsburgh.

“As a former small business owner, I truly understand the resources needed for continued success,” Marschik said. “Through outreach, programming and counseling, my team will let entrepreneurs know the SBA is here in all phases of business growth — from opening a shop, to accessing capital, to contracting opportunities.”

“The region’s entrepreneurs, lenders and our resource partners will continue to benefit from her extensive knowledge,” said Kelly Hunt, SBA Western Pennsylvania district director. “Under Marschik’s guidance, I believe local small business starts will continue to flourish and grow the economy.”

Marschik was the recipient of the 2006 SBA Champion Award and the 2010 Entrepreneurial Excellence Award.
