Gloria Schroeder
Gloria Jean Schroeder, 77, of Orchard Manor in Grove City, formerly of Slippery Rock passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020.
She was born June 23, 1943, in Zelienople, to Guy Rime and Emma Alberth Rime.
She married William M. Schroeder on May 21, 1960, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2017.
She retired in 2000 from the New Castle News, where she worked in advertising sales.
She was a founding member of All Saints Lutheran Church of Slippery Rock, where she was active in volunteer activities.
She enjoyed baking, cooking and arranging flowers.
She is survived by two daughters, Debby J. (Dennis) Snyder of Slippery Rock, and Sherry A. (Andrew) Major of Orchard Park, N.Y.; a son, William G. “Butch” (Crystal) Schroeder of Slippery Rock; a sister, Ann (David) Jacobs of Prospect; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Eric) Slater, Rebecca (Derek) DeGraaf, Michael (Amanda) Schroeder, Jennifer (Mark) Borcz, Rami Major, William Major and Rachael Major; and three great-grandchildren, Shelby, Matthew and Ryker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her grandson, Adam; and her brother, Jack.
SCHROEDER — The family of Gloria Jean Schroeder, who died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, will hold a private service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home in Slippery Rock, with the Rev. Larry Loree, pastor of All Saints Lutheran Church presiding.
