The day of the cat
Tuesday is National Cat Day and to bring awareness to homeless cats the Butler Eagle is highlighting Autumn, who just got her stitches out recently from a knee surgery. Autumn is a young cat who came into the Butler County Humane Society recently with a broken knee and was taken to a veterinarian for a surgery that cost about $1,000, according to Alicia Sharer, the community outreach and volunteer coordinator of the Butler County Humane Society. To pay for the surgery, the humane society held a fundraiser on its Facebook page and according to Sharer, the community chipped in the cost for Autumn’s surgery in just a couple of hours. Sharer said by the time they arrived at the vet, the fundraiser had reached its goal. The fundraiser ended with a total of $1,320.
