The daughter of John and Mary Paserba of Chicora, she is a 1995 graduate of Karns City High School and a 1999 graduate of Edinboro University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.

Rice works as a fifth and sixth grade teacher at Butler Catholic School.

She currently resides in Chicora with her husband Tom Rice.

graduated with a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Slippery Rock University.While at the university, she was a member of the Psi Chi Honors Society.The daughter of Ronald Sarvey and Jean Sarvey, both of Butler, she attended the Community College of Beaver County and received her private pilot and instrument rated license.Sarvey plans to pursue a master's degree in business administration from Point Park University.
