Rodney Lynn McConnell

Rodney Lynn McConnell, 83, formerly of Muncie, Ind., passed away at 7:41 a.m. Sunday after a brief illness at Trinity Living Center, Grove City.

Mr. McConnell was born March 14, 1935, in Cranberry, Pa., to Alfred and Ida Thomas McConnell. He married Lois Ann Patterson June 16, 1956.

Mr. McConnell was a draftsman at Westinghouse in Sharon, as well as in Muncie, Ind.; and a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). He was of the Protestant faith.

Mr. McConnell is survived by his wife, Lois Ann McConnell; three children, Terry McConnell and his wife, Diane, of Hermitage, Linda and her husband, Brian Masters, of Mercer, and Edward McConnell and his wife, Amy, of Sharpsburg, Ga.; two sisters, Nancy Spurk of Butler and Dorothy Brown of Zelienople; one brother, James McConnell and his wife, Mary, of Raymore, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lois Steigerwald; one daughter, Bonnie Carothers; and one son, David McConnell.

MCCONNELL — Visitation for Rodney Lynn McConnell, who died Sunday, April 8, 2018, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Benjamin Fleet, grandson of the deceased, officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jackson Township.
