Nancy R. Spurk
Nancy R. Spurk, 83, of Butler Township, formerly of Renfrew, passed away Saturday while under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice of Cabot.
Born March 14, 1935, in Evans City, she was the daughter of the late Alfred L. McConnell and Ida Mae Thomas McConnell.
Nancy was a member of the Whitestown Road Baptist Church for over 40 years. She held many positions in the church, including song leader.
She also sang with the Greater Harmony Chapter of the Sweet Adelines for 16 years. Nancy was a wildlife artist who loved nature. She enjoyed gardening flowers with her late husband. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, James Richard (Karen) Spurk of Portersville, Larry Douglas (Teresa) Spurk of New Castle, Laurie A. Spurk of Butler, Michael D. (Peggy) Spurk of Kissimmee, Fla., and Mark S. (Lisa) Spurk of Auburndale, Fla.; her son-in-law, Douglas Rock of Kearney, Mo.; her brother, James L. (Mary) McConnell of Raymore, Mo.; her sister, Dorothy Hope Brown of Zelienople; her sister-in-law, Lois McConnell of Grove City; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Spurk, who died in 1995; her daughter, Katherine Rock; her granddaughter, Kelsea; her twin brother, Rodney Lynn McConnell; and her sister, Ruth Lois Steigerwald.

Spurk, who died on Saturday, July 14, 2018, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Twp, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Whitestown Road Baptist Church, 409 Whitestown Road, Butler.
