Annie Atkinson
Annie A. (Kamerer) Atkinson, 98, of West Deer Township, died Friday, March 18, 2022, at Platinum Ridge Center for Rehabilitation, Brackenridge.
She was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Kaylor, Armstrong County, and was the daughter to the late William and Sergie (Bish) Kamerer.
Annie has lived in West Deer for the past 77 years. She was the co-owner of Atkinson Auto, West Deer; a member of the Dorseyville Alliance Church, Dorseyville; and volunteered with the church Bible school, church dinners and missionary work, as well as West Deer Meals-on-Wheels. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, sewing, baby dolls and canning; she was an artist; and she especially loved her family.
Survivors include her son, Harold G. (Linda) Atkinson Jr. of West Deer; grandchildren, Shelby (Edward) Milnes, Angela (Douglas) Higby, Broc (Diana) Atkinson, Glenda (Brian) Deah and Elizabeth (J.P.) Kenney; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold G. Atkinson Sr.; her infant daughter, Glenda A. Atkinson; her son, the Rev. Gary G. Atkinson; and seven siblings.
ATKINSON — At her request, a private family graveside service for Annie A. (Kamerer) Atkinson, who died Friday, March 18, 2022, was held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugar Creek Township, where she was laid to rest next to her husband and infant daughter.
Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township.
