BUTLER TWP — Cristen Woolstrum and Knoch graduate Bailey Rickenbrode combined on a no-hitter in the first game as the Butler County Community College softball team swept a season-opening doubleheader from Westmoreland County Community College over the weekend.

Final scores were 23-0 and 20-1.

Woolstrum struck out six in four innings of the first game. Knoch graduate Olivia Vissari had a triple, single, four runs and three RBI, Moniteau grad Amanda Dailey a double, two singles, three runs and five RBI.

Rickenbrode struck out five in four innings to win the second game. Moniteau graduate Taylor Schultz had three singles, three runs and four RBI, Vissari a double, single, four runs and two RBI, Dailey two singles, three runs and two RBI.

BC3 out-hit Westmoreland 31-2 on the day. The Pioneers play a twinbill at Penn State DuBois Wednesday.
