Bertha H. Green
Bertha H. Green, 89, of Butler passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 16, 1925, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Fred J. and Catherine Hornberger Carbin.
Before her marriage, she was employed at The Egg Plant in East Butler. She later went to work for the Spaide Shirt Factory in Butler for 15 years.
She was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's Guild.
Surviving are her three sons, Joseph G. (Regina) Green Jr. of Chicora, and Daniel G. (Mary Ann) Green and Thomas B. (Linda) Green, both of Butler; her daughter, Nancy (Neil) Purdie of Butler; her four granddaughters, Christan (Joshua) Sheppard of Phoenix, Ariz., and Victoria, Amanda and Elizabeth Green, all of Butler; her grandson, Alexander Purdie of Butler; her brother, Victor (Mary) Carbin of Saxonburg; and her three sisters, Mae (Edward) Fleming of West Sunbury, Clara Razete of Florida and Helen Kriley of Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Green, who passed away on June 22, 1982; seven brothers; and four sisters.
Green — The friends of Bertha H. Green, who passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
