GRADUATES

Jason Reefer graduated summa cum laude with a degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania.While at the university, he was a member of the honors history program and completed a senior thesis titled "Butler, Pennsylvania; The Deep North? An examination of my home."He also volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and was a leader in the Penn's Blue and Red Crew, a fan club for undergraduate sports events.A graduate of Slippery Rock High School, he is the son of John and Mary Reefer of Butler.He plans to attend the Washington and Lee School of Law in the fall.---

<B>Emili Evans</B> graduated with honors with a bachelor of science degree in ethics, history and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University.A member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies, she served as an undergraduate representative to the Humanities and Social Sciences College Council. She was named a 2005 Andrew Carnegie Scholar and was named to the dean's list for eight semesters. She also received the university's senior leadership award.Evans received the Phi Kappa Phi Outstanding Research Award for her thesis on judgements of personal responsibility for health outcomes in egalitarian moral theories.The daughter of Clinton and Louise Evans of Butler, she is a 2001 graduate of Butler High School.She is currently co-authoring an article on clinical equipoise and is serving as a consultant to the Institute of Medicine's Committee on Food Marketing and Children's Diets.Evans has accepted a fellowship from Georgetown University, where she will pursue a doctorate degree in philosophy and bioethics.---

<B>Danielle McKain</B> graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in applied mathematics from Robert Morris University. She also received a teacher certification.While at the university, she was named to the dean's list and received the Applied Mathematics Outstanding Senior Achievement Award.The daughter of Jon and Michelle McKain of Butler, she is a 2000 graduate of Butler High School and a 2002 graduate of Butler County Community College.She is currently employed with the North Allegheny Summer School Program.---

<B>Melissa Hulings</B> graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Slippery Rock University.A member of the university's Honors Program, she served as a peer tutor for logic, the president of the Math Club and as a companion for the Pet Lovers.The recipient of the 2005 Department of Math Service Award, she was named to the 2004 and 2005 editions of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.The daughter of Bill and Gloria Hulings of Slippery Rock, she is a 2001 graduate of Slippery Rock High School.---

<B>R.J. Long</B> graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in history from Dickinson College. He also received a Pennsylvania State teaching certificate in social studies.While at the college, he served as a resident advisor, community advisor, president of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, junior class president and senior class vice president.He was also a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honor society, the Phi Alpha Theta history honor society, the Kappa Delta Pi education honor society, the Order of the Scroll and Key and the Student Pennsylvania State Educators Association.He was named a Dana Scholar and is the recipient of the William F. Hufstader Senior Prize, the sophomore class leadership award, the Omicron Delta Kappa Sophomore Man of the Year Award, the Dickinson College Student Senate Senator of the Year Award, the Junior Class Leadership Award, the Amy Snow Prize, the 1902 Award, the Joann J. Trow Alpha Lambda Delta Scholarship and the Dickinson College Alumni Council Award.A 2001 graduate of Knoch High School, he is the son of Robert and Marianne Long of Butler.---

<B>Mindi Hockenberry</B> graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in social anthropology from the State University of New York at Purchase.A 1999 graduate of Butler High School, she is the daughter of Dale and Cindi Hockenberry of Butler.She has accepted a position in distribution and sales for White Rice Clothing and Furniture in Hudson, N.Y.---

<B>Dr. Jolene Hillwig Garcia</B> recently received a doctorate degree from the Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey Medical School.She is the daughter of Dennis and Rita Hillwig of Chambersburg and the granddaughter of Frank Corbett and James and Virginia Fair, all of Grove City; and Evelyn Hillwig of Cabot.Garcia will begin her residency at the Hershey Medical Center on July 1.She resides in Harrisburg with her husband, R. Courtney Garcia.
