Police investigate assault this morning in Alameda Park
BUTLER TWP — Police are investigating a Saxonburg woman’s claim that she was assaulted and thrown out of a truck at Alameda Park early this morning.
The 38-year-old woman also said that her assailant stole money from her after the alleged assault in the upper part of the park, township police said.
She apparently used her cell phone to call 911 at 5:17 a.m. A dispatcher described the woman as “crying and very hard to understand,” said Steve Bicehouse, director of Butler County emergency services.
Butler Township Police Chief John Hays said officers searched the area but could not find any evidence of an assault.
The woman did not appear to be injured but she was in “an excited condition,” Hays said. A Butler Ambulance Service crew was called and took her to Butler Memorial Hospital to be checked out.
Police hope to obtain the woman’s written statement today. In the meantime, Hays said, the investigation continues.
